Rachael & James - Vicki Wilkinson Photography

Rachael & James

Rachael & James had a gorgeous wedding at the Talbot Inn in Ripley. This is now one of my favourite venues to shoot in. The barn at the back of the property is a delight; although it's dark, the shadows, beams and fairy lights make the venue really interesting from a photography point of view. Rachael got ready at her parents home and some of my favourite shots of the day are of her and her niece preparing her dress in the living room. I’ve included a series of them here as I genuinely could not decide which ones I liked best. Although it was dark, I was able to use their silhouettes and frame them in the doorway. This is the type of photography I enjoy shooting most, the subjects oblivious to the camera and just getting on with the day. The service was simple and understated and in a beautiful church. The candid shots outside the church were fun to shoot and the two bridesmaids played up to the cameras perfectly (as kids always do!). There were top hats and canes in abundance, so it was hard not to just photograph the groomsmen enjoying themselves. Back at the Talbot, the venue provided lots of interesting places for me to take some shots of the couple alone before heading the barn and the wedding breakfast to take some high contrast shots of the guests mingling and enjoying themselves. This has been one of my favourite weddings this year. For more information on The Talbot Inn visit: The Talbot Inn
